UC college admission help ?

  • aight, i have like a 4.2 weighted gpa, about 600 volunteer hours, im in an a lot of clubs inc. key & csf. i speak like 3 languages fluently and i play 2 instruments in a professional orchestra. but heres what hurts me, my sat score is pretty sucky, its like an 1800 (practice tests).

    what are my chances of getting into:
    1) UCLA
    2) UC Berkeley
    3) Harvard/Princeton

    and also, how do i improve my sat scores, im taking the test on saturday lol
    any help is appreciated, thanks!!

  • Study regularly all week and cram a little bit the night before. Make sure you get a good nights sleep(empty your mind when you're falling asleep) and eat a hearty breakfast. Make sure you take your calculator. Idk if it helps, but I did it both times I took my SATs, drink like two rockstars during the test (during the breaks). Don't do red bull though, those tend to give heart attacks if you drink them in excess.


  • well first, if you want to go to UCLA or UC Berkeley next year, its too late. the deadline is Nov. 30. The application is only open Nov. 1 - Nov. 3. it really sucks because i wanted to apply to transfer, but now its too late :-(

    as for getting in, your gpa seems pretty awesome and u got a lot of volunteer hours so im pretty sure that will look really good. and your involved in activites, and play instruments and speak 3 languages. i think you should have a good chance. what languages do u speak? (just wonderin). just take the practice tests a lot and try and memorize math formulae and just study a lot. thats all the help i can give. good luck!



    ok well thats really good, ur i luck then! plus, u can take the sat's as many times as u want, so just take it a few extra times after u know what to expect. it may be annoying and strenuous, but trust me, its definitely worth it. i went up like 300pts from my first attempt 2 my last attempt and they count your highest number on each section and it can be from different times u take it. so just try really hard hah. but definitely take the sat II. you need to take at least two to get into any of those school. good luck!
