Is it right or wrong in your view to teach competition as a way of life?

  • In every way all seem to see the win or other than win as the priority in life. hy can not the joy of participating or the joy in having experiences be the important factor taught?

  • There will always be competition... the difference is healthy competition and non-healthy competition.

Aside from that, those that compete and don't come away the victor often find another way to succeed. So just because you lose a horse race doesn't mean you shouldn't jump into a pool. 8D

  • It's wrong. People will then learn to always compare themselves to others, as comparison to the competition is part of it. There'll always be someone doing better than them.

I agree with you. Joy in having the experience and trying to do their best should be the main priority. We only have one life to live - why waste it always competing with others?

  • If you check all Religions. they call it other things but it is the same. You are to go into the world and get people to join your religion, if that is not competition then I don't know what is?
Each religion believes it is right, I know my religion is right. See!!!

  • Competition is more than beating someone else. One can compete with oneself. One can try to be a better person, not just better at an activity. Competition alone, however, can not allow one to accomplish all their goals. Cooperation and compromise are also important life skills to learn and practice. Also, one can often learn much from losing. Losing is often an inspirational and motivational experience necessary to enhance a person's drive to excel productively. Teaching competition alone as a way to succeed will only produce failure over time.
