» Quebec Takes Action Against Pandemic Influenza
Hat tip Senior Moderator Muscade translated via google tools On Monday, 11 August 2008 $ 50 million against bird flu Jean-François Cliche Le Soleil Quebec In addition to reserves of Tamiflu vaccines already formed, the Quebec government is preparing to invest an additional $ 50 million in its preparations against a possible pandemic of avian influenza, told The Sun. These are used to stockpile antibiotics to combat the "secondary infections, such as pneumonia, which often accompany the influenza virus. A year ago, the Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) has assembled a team of experts to draw up a list of drugs - other than vaccines - which could be scarce during a pandemic influenza. My filter I purchased online from adorama just arrived. I just realized that it wasn't uv though. It was in the same section that said uv so I just assumed and it has a slight pink tone to the filter. I was only going to get it to protect my 70-200. Is it going to effect my image enough that I should send it back, covering the shipping, to get a different one that is completely clear? Enlighten me pleaseIt's probably a warming filter. yea what are some women astronomers, i search and nothing comes up...Henrietta Leavitt discovered a relationship between the period of variable stars and their brightness. This allows us to determine the distance to nearby galaxies. Astronomy is second only to biology in the proportion of women scientists. This is the election section...We just had an election...Obama won it and will be our president, so it's pretty normal for people to talk about him. Good question, these folks are obsessed with smearing Obama and have been for most of 20 months. The funny thing is, a high percentage of independents and swing voters went to Obama BECAUSE of the constant smearing. So they played a major role in getting him elected, so I thank them from the bottom of my heart.Fact: Presidents, or in this case, Presidents Elect get smack-talked a lot. E36 M3's are still fairly common - so you shouldn't have any problem finding bolt on parts. Don't buy from e-bay. As for specific parts, it depends if you want to get into forced induction - which is risky and expensive - or stay n/a - which is also expensive. I'm trying to figure out the best way to hook up my bluray. My setup is: plasma tv, sony bluray BDP-S350, and dvd player/ surround sound combo. So I'm thinking I should run hdmi from BR to dvd, (for dts surround sound), and component video cable from the BR to the tv. I'm not even sure if the Sony BR will let me hook up in this way, as far as, having the audio go out through hdmi, and video go out through coax. I have not had a stroke.grandpabill, A little known and interesting fact is that 7% of the population in India suffers from anosmia! Anosmia is the medical term for impaired sense of smell. People with anosmia also have a limited sense of taste, since smell enhances our perception of taste. So, you can see, the two symptoms go hand in hand. The causes of anosmia are many, and may be temporary. Temporary loss of smell and taste may be caused by swelling of the nasal tissues, which compromises the olfactory nerve. Permanent anosmia can be more serious, and may be l...... - 2009-07-03

In every way all seem to see the win or other than win as the priority in life. hy can not the joy of participating or the joy in having experiences be the important factor taught? It's wrong. People will then learn to always compare themselves to others, as comparison to the competition is part of it. There'll always be someone doing better than them. I agree with you. Joy in having the experience and trying to do their best should be the main priority. We only have one life to live - why waste it always competing with others?Competition is more than beating someone else. One can compete with oneself. One can try to be a better person, not just better at an activity. Competition alone, however, can not allow one to accomplis...... - 2009-07-03

Can you beat a cake mix too much? What will happen if you do?dosent riseno unless it has whipped egg whites in. the mixing just combines the ingredients and more importantly adds air to the mixture so it rises. so no you cant mis it too much. if it is smooth and all combined and mixed for around 2 mins (electric whisk) then it will be great.Technically, yes. When you make something with flour, the more your batter or dough is worked, the more you develop gluten because of the wheat. The more gluten, then chewier or tougher the product, such as making a yeast bread. However, a cake mix has so much stuff in it, that beating it an extra minute or too probably shouldn't have too much of an adverse effect on your end results.yea it will...... - 2009-07-03

Im in the auto trade but having taken time off, would like to get involved in some volunteer work around southeast asia. Anywhere that is affordable to live.I am on a shoestring budget.Any ideas? It's far easier than you think:- Simply contact a large non-profit company that hires only volunteers, and that operates in your chosen area (trust me - there are always heaps!) Send them an email or ring them, and they should be able to offer you a placement right away - they are usually on constant look-out for volunteers, as they are hard to come by....... - 2009-07-03

Some women's hymens break from all sorts of things, not just sex.OKkkkkaaayyyy... O_O First of all, no Gynecologist can prove it, so you're stuck there. And nope, I'm not married ethier. » Is it possible that a series of upset / embarassed things happening in a week will u sort of explode?
Depends on whether you bottle it up or not. I used to do that and would explode quite violently. I have learned to express my feelings either to paper or a person or even an animal and it helps, I would write what happened down. And if you can think of something positive about it do. Sometimes if you think about something long enough it ends up seeming quite funny in the end. If it was something very sad, talk to someone about it. That's the best you can do. It is dangerous and unhealthy to bottle feelings up.yeah. write down in a whole page in detail what youre feeling then rip it to shreds... it works! different people react in different ways to embarrassing or upsetting things. it just depends on your mental capability to ...... - 2009-07-03

We wade into the water to put our boats in for morning rowing practice (we don't put in from the docks like most teams). Sometimes the water comes up to my knees, sometimes it comes all the way up to my waist. Then we get to climb into the boat and row for an hour! It was fine in october but I'm not looking forward to March. I can keep warm when its 35 degrees outside but not when I'm soaking wet. Any suggestions? If you climb in right after you launch, you sure can't row in waders. I guess the other guys never rowed crew. I suggest a decent, thin, (3/2 or less) wetsuit. » January 2nd 2006 - Outbreak Discussion / Review
I was just reviewing some data for this event (I didn't really follow it in realtime)... The area near ATL was primed for severe weather... If one followed the RUC closely, it actually predicted things quite well up to 3 hours in advance. I know following the models so closely isn't the best way to forecast, but I find the RUC usually does a pretty good job at forecast convective initiation... The WV loop showed the dryslot overhead, but as the upper level low continued eastward some mid level moisture streamed into the area. Also, vertical velocity through the profile (which were initially negative due to the descent behind the mornings convection) became positive in association with the cold front and strong PVA. » Why is high-intensity rainfall likely to lead to flooding ?
Please help thanks in advance =] In well populated areas that the water runs off all those roads, paths, paved areas and the roofs of houses straight into the storm drains. These can't cope with the sudden influx of all this water. They fill up and the water ends up flooding the populated areas. In the country, the ground just soaks up the rain and this more slowly drains off into the rivers. In exceptional circumstances, you get flash floods down these river valleys. It's the sheer volume of water in a short time that causes the problem.Because a high-intensity rain falls faster than it soaks into the ground. That means it runs off, first in small rivulets, but those rivulets run into each other to form larger streams and...... - 2009-07-03

Wildlife science or wildlife conservation could be good choices. If neither is available, try majoring in zoology. Try to find a school that has a course in herpetology. Maybe just general biology, and then try to intern at a zoo or something similar during breaks. Good question, these folks are obsessed with smearing Obama and have been for most of 20 months. The funny thing is, a high percentage of independents and swing voters went to Obama BECAUSE of the constant smearing.

Hi I have been wearing Boston Contacts for 2 years and ever since I started wearing them they have constantly made my eyes dry and they are very irritating!Previous to hard boston contacts I wore soft contacts but I was told these are bad for my eyes because I have a lazy eye and an astigmitisim. ANYWAYS Im up to get new lenses I was just wondering is it safe for me to go back to soft lenses? Does anyone know a good kind for horrible eyesight? Or any ideas on different hard lenses how to make them more comfortable( eyedrops dont work)It's rather impossible for anyone here to know if you are able to go back to soft lenses. I'm a lucky recipient of much scrap material. Very much a variety. And there's more where it came from. Anyone have some ideas of what we can do with this for toddlers and preschoolers. Of course sewing and "craft" projects are really out of the question. One project we have done is using pink and purple scraps to glue to the letter P. And this winter we'll be making patchwork mittens. Any other ideas? Thanks!I have a class of two year olds and i use scrap material all the time for art and sensory projects. We glue it on to everything-shiny fabric on fish shapes, brown fabric on a bear shape (teddy bear), tent shapes-basically anything that the color or texture of the material would enhance the project a little b...... - 2009-07-03

Just a candid shot for a coworker early this week. I thought it was decent for poor light and not being prepared. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y298/NikolaiGMFS/pris1finalcr.jpgThat much is true: it is a nice, friendly, open smile photo for being candid, in poor light, and totally unprepared. I miss some light in her eyes, though. The given light made them all black, hollow and undefined. That is the risk with spontaneous, given-light-only portraits. » Help! I have to wade thigh-deep in water when its 35 F outside, what could I wear?
We wade into the water to put our boats in for morning rowing practice (we don't put in from the docks like most teams). Sometimes the water comes up to my knees, sometimes it comes all the way up to my waist. Then we get to climb into the boat and row for an hour! It was fine in october but I'm not looking forward to March. I can keep warm when its 35 degrees outside but not when I'm soaking wet. Any suggestions? If you climb in right after you launch, you sure can't row in waders. I guess the other guys never rowed crew. I suggest a decent, thin, (3/2 or less) wetsuit. Preferably a long john, it has long legs, but no sleeves, so you won't be too overheated while rowing. And you'll want a pair of 5 to 7 mi...... - 2009-07-03

I'm having trouble finding any ND filters darker than ND8. I want something that will give me at least 10 stops of reduction. In 77mm. I don't like stacking filters. It greatly increase the amount of dust spots no matter how well I clean. Not to mention viginetting. Thank for any help.I am using two polarizers.... I popped the glass out of one and insert into a UV single glass filter ring (replacing the UV glass with the polarized one). I then stacked a polarizer ontop of that. Gives me 3-8 stops easily. This was a DIY project of mine since stacking two rotating polarizers was a royal pain to use and a bit too thick in front of a 50mm.
In addition, very s...... - 2009-07-03

There are a few dozen. There is a real chance that after school you will want to do something else, so try and keep your primary education fairly broad. Maybe just general biology, and then try to intern at a zoo or something similar during breaks. If you are still inclined, look to postgraduate school for more concentrated study.Biology and then specialize it takes a brave person to commit to the move of only having one option.I did but I may be a little crazyyes, because this ay be an important ad demanding job in the future....... - 2009-07-03
